Philadelphia roots-rock noisemakers the War on Drugs released an EP, Future Weather, last year, but they haven't put out a full-length since 2008's debut Wagonwheel Blues. Erstwhile band member Kurt Vile's been doing fine on his own since, while multi-instrumentalist Dave Hartley put out a record last year for his bliss-pop project Nightlands.
The
band's set to kick back in action on August 16, when Secretly Canadian
releases Slave Ambient, the second proper LP from
the War on Drugs. The record was recorded in Asheville, North
Carolina and at frontman Adam Granduciel's home studio in
Philly.
